Every year since 1963, the President proclaims National Small Business Week. In honor of Small Business Week, the SBA holds an annual small business awards competition.
That’s more than 50 years of celebrating small business owners who create two out of every three new jobs for Americans. Many household names were previous National Small Business Week award winners, including Ben and Jerry’s, Callaway Golf, Chobani, Dogfish Head, Stonyfield Farm, Pacifica, Landmark Pest Management, and Tom’s of Maine.
SBA Virginia has just opened its National Small Business Week State Awards application window. If a great candidate comes to mind for either the Small Business Person of the Year and the SBA Exporter of the Year Award, be sure to get your nomination package in to the SBA by January 9th. Self-nominations are accepted. Winners will be recognized during the 2019 National Small Business Week April 29th – May 5th.
Nomination packages can be postmarked, or hand delivered to the SBA no later than 3PM. EST, January 9th, 2019.
All nominees are required to fill out SBA Form 3300, the Award Background Form.
