Tidewater Korean American Association hosted the 73rd Annual Korean Liberation Day at the MacArthur Memorial to commemorate Korean War veterans and Korean-American Veterans. Jay An, President of Tidewater Korean Association (also ABAHR’s new Board Director) was the master of ceremonies. Mr. Drew Lumpkin of Senator Mark Warner’s office, Dr. Montero of Montero Medical Missions, and Kim Dong-gi, Consul General of the Republic of Korea Embassy, were all speakers. MacArthur Memorial Director, Christopher Kolakowski, gave a congratulatory speech at the event followed by the Scholarship ceremony presented by Ki B. Lee, the Chair of T.K.A.A Board, and a blessing led by Nak Hyun Cho, Minister at Tidewater Korean Baptist Church. Two High School seniors, Sarah Park and Seth Tyler Miller, were awarded scholarships during the honorable event.
